"Kume Kataoka(subsequently Josyo)"(owned by Kataoka Photo Studio)
In the Meiji period, Kataoka Joshou moved his photo studio from Nikko to Tochigi. He was very enthusiastic about photography. Many of his photos, including those of many towns and streets, still exist to this day. It is said that he took photographs of Kitagawa Utamaro’s “Fukagawa in the Snow”, “Shinagawa in the Moonlight”, and “Cherry Blossoms at Yoshiwara” in the Meiji period.
