It is a temple of Shingon sect at the Shingon Buddhist temple that was opened in the Nara period by the ShoudouShounin who opened the Mt.Nikko Rinnoji temple, becoming the seventeenth number badge of the Bando thirty three Kannon temple, and the main temple built in the Edo period is a prefecture-designated tangible cultural asset. The Okunoin in the back of the main hall has the statue of the eleven-faced Kannon made of stalactite with the benefit of small gift, and ascetic practice by sitting under a waterfall is done in the front Daihi no taki waterfall.
