Daichuji temple

It was built as a temple of Shingon sect during the Heian era, but later declined and revived as a temple of Soto sect in the Muromachi period.It is famous for the legend of Seven Wonders, and the Aozukin in Ueda Akinari's "Ugetsu Monogatari" is based on one of them "Nenashi Fuji".In the early summer, many hydrangeas are blooming on both sides of the stone steps leading to the sanmon designated as city designated cultural assets.
